Can I sign multiple documents at the same time?

It depends on the plan the user chooses:

  • With the free version of Instasign, you can send one document to be signed at a time.

  • With the Advanced and Pro plans, you can upload and send multiple documents to be signed simultaneously.

Can I sign any type of document? For example, cancellations or communications to private individuals? Or is it only for communications to public authorities?

According to Article 61 of the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers dated 22/02/2013, the electronic signature affixed using the Electronic Identity Card (CIE) is considered an advanced electronic signature. Therefore, it can be used in place of a handwritten signature, both for communications with private individuals and with public authorities.

Why does the verification software say the signature is invalid when I verify a document signed with Instasign?

The signature affixed using the CIE (Electronic Identity Card) is legally recognized as an advanced electronic signature, as established by Article 61 of the DPCM dated 22/02/2013. However, some verification software is designed to recognize only qualified digital signatures and may therefore display errors or warnings when verifying advanced electronic signatures, as in your case. It is important to note that, according to current regulations, Public Administrations are required to accept advanced electronic signatures made with the CIE.

How can I set up and use biometric authentication on my device?

In your device settings, look for the section related to security or biometrics. Follow the instructions to register your fingerprint or facial features. Make sure to have a secure backup method (PIN, password) in case biometric authentication doesn't work. This adds an extra layer of security to your device.

What do the paid options Timestamp and Long Term Validation include?

The 'Timestamp' option allows you to add a timestamp to your electronic signature. You have two choices: you can use a qualified provider like Namirial, Aruba, or Infocert for a qualified timestamp, or you can select our free service, which provides an advanced but non-qualified timestamp. For the latter, simply enter 'https://freetsa.irg/tsr' in the 'address' field (visible in the configuration after payment) and leave the other fields empty. The LVT (Long Term Validation) option, on the other hand, adds values to the electronic signature that ensure it can be verified over time, even in the long term, up to 10 years.
