Can I sign multiple documents at the same time?

It depends on your plan. With the Free plan you can send one document at a time; with the Plus and Advanced plans you can upload and send multiple documents to be signed at the same time.

Can I sign any type of document?

Yes. With Instasign you can sign cancellations, communications to private individuals, contracts, agreements and much more: not only communications to public authorities.

Under Article 61 of the Italian Prime Ministerial Decree (DPCM) of 22/02/2013, a signature affixed with the Italian Electronic Identity Card (CIE) is an advanced electronic signature: it can replace a handwritten signature with both private parties and public authorities.

Why does the verification software say the signature is invalid?

A signature affixed with the CIE is legally recognised as an advanced electronic signature (Art. 61 of the DPCM of 22/02/2013). However, some verification software is designed to recognise only qualified digital signatures and may show errors or warnings when verifying an advanced electronic signature.

Under current regulations, Italian public authorities are required to accept advanced electronic signatures made with the CIE. If in doubt, contact us.

How do I set up biometric authentication on my device?

In your device settings, look for the security or biometrics section and follow the instructions to register your fingerprint or face.

Also set up a secure fallback unlock method (PIN or password) in case biometric authentication doesn’t work.

What do the paid Timestamp and Long Term Validation options include?

The Timestamp option adds a timestamp to your signature. You can use a qualified provider such as Namirial, Aruba or InfoCert for a qualified timestamp, or the free service, which provides an advanced but non-qualified timestamp: in that case enter https://freetsa.org/tsr in the “address” field (shown in the configuration after payment) and leave the other fields empty.

The LTV (Long Term Validation) option adds information to the signature that keeps it verifiable over time, for up to 10 years.

We help you choose the right plan and integrate electronic signatures into your processes.
